Megan Levine
Berkeley, CA based mixed media artist, Megan Levine (she/they), creates abstract collage with hand painted paper. Her art practice began after the unexpected death of a friend inspired her to build a burnable memorial out of papier-mache. Levine discovered the healing depths of color and the satisfaction of getting her hands in glue. After downsizing her work space, she found her stride and expressive freedom in two dimensional collage. Driving her art practice is a fascination with the visual language of color and compositional balance to express what can't be put into words. Levine’s work has been exhibited in shows including Crocker-Kingsley at Blue Line Arts, Queerwerks at Silvermine Arts Center, and her 2023 solo exhibition, Introduction to Tribadometry.
