Poetic Absraction by Laura Mitsu

Poetic Absraction by Laura Mitsu

I am an artist who creates abstract paintings and often writes poetry inspired by them. In this exhibition, "Poetic Abstraction," each painting is accompanied by a poem inspired by it, inviting you to glimpse into my mind during the creative process.

Together, each piece and poetry encapsulates the essence of who I am in that particular moment. I work intuitively, allowing each painting to evolve naturally while paying attention to what each piece requires as it progresses. I utilize movement, mark-making, and color to elicit feelings and emotions.

I’m inspired by what makes me feel alive — emotion, connection, and growth & transformation. As people, we are continuously developing and changing, and my work reflects this fluidity by constantly evolving. Few of my paintings appear the same, and this celebrates that dynamic nature.

I aim for my work to be a reflection of our shared experiences, vulnerabilities, and the universal yearning to connect with ourselves and others. I hope you enjoy this debut show and can see yourself in my work. I hope what I've created resonates with you, and that you can see aspects of yourself in the work showcased in this exhibition.

All are welcome to come to the opening reception of Laura Mitsu's first solo exhibition, Poetic Abstraction.

Doors open at 5pm til 9pm
